This Sh*t is Hard
This is for the women who feel like they can’t.
For the ones that beat themselves up for every failure. For the ones who want to feel motivated, but just can’t. For the ones that compare themselves to others, or maybe even the younger/skinnier version of themselves. This is for the women who set goals but can’t ever seem to achieve them.
If you’re one of those women, then let me say this to you…
This shit is hard.
I feel obligated to write this for you because I feel like every other channel is trying to convince you that it’s easy. Celebrities giving us the details of their diets to make us think dieting can’t be that terrible, and fitness models showing off their favorite exercises that gave them that body, before and afters
They can do it, why can’t I?
Sometimes it is because we need to make simple changes, maybe push ourselves more in our workouts or eat more vegetables. But sometimes the fix isn’t so easy…
Because this shit is hard when you’re a new sleep deprived mom. This shit is hard when you work all day and come home tired. This shit is hard when everyone around you is eating junk food and offering it to you. This shit is hard when you feel out of shape and fat AF. This shit is hard when you’re busy and just want to relax.
This shit is hard. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it.
You remember that old saying about how nothing good in life comes easy? I know, I know, so cliche. But you know what? That applies here. Because although it may feel hard AF and that you have to force yourself into doing anything healthy for you… it is worth it.
If it’s important to you, you’ll make it happen. So set goals. Make them achievable and also super fucking specific. There’s nothing wrong with setting the bar high for ourselves, but if it’s so high we can’t even see it anymore… it’s time to lower our expectations. That doesn’t mean we won’t ever be there, it means that we realize we’ve got other things to work on to get us there first.
Choose something that’s going to make you excited to get out of bed in the morning. And then be relentless about it. Refuse to fail, even when this shit gets harder because it will since this is life and it happens.
And finally, trust the damn process.
There will be highs and lows, good and bads. Feelings of awesome and feelings of fuck. But ride those out, stay with it. Because breakdowns lead to breakthroughs.
So if you’re still reading this, yes… this shit is hard. But don’t let it be harder than your determination to get there. You got this!
